Icon Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "St. Vera"

“St. Vera” shows the young martyr holding a flowering sprig. The colouring is light, almost spring-like.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown to the waist, turned slightly to one side. Long wavy chestnut hair falls freely over her shoulders. A pale blue veil is draped across one shoulder, and beneath it is a dress in a muted raspberry tone. Her hands are folded at her chest, the right one holding a slender sprig with small pink and red blossoms. The halo is built from amber and gold rings. The fill is partial: beads cover the figure, the hair, the halo, the flowers, the border and the corner fans, while the cream ground with its printed scrollwork stays on the canvas. A red name plate and a band of ornament close the image below. A narrow border of brown squares frames the field, and the amber fan rosettes in the upper corners echo the tone of the halo.
