Icon Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "St. Valery"

“St. Valery” shows the young martyr with a cross and a small casket. The colours are blue, raspberry and gold.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown to the waist, almost frontally: a youthful beardless face, fair hair, a direct gaze. A blue cloak is thrown over his shoulders, and beneath it is a raspberry-pink tunic with a wide decorated collar set with coloured stones. His right hand holds a gold eight-pointed cross, the left a small gold casket; a beaded bracelet shows at the wrist. The halo is warm gold. The fill is partial: beads cover the figure, the clothing, the cross, the casket, the halo, the border and the corner fans, while the cream ground with its printed scrollwork stays on the canvas. A red cartouche and a band of ornament sit below, and a border of small brown squares frames the field along the edges.
