Icon Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "St. Valery"

“St. Valery” — an image of the martyr in a crown with pearl pendants, a cross at her breast. Crimson, blue and terracotta set the palette.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown half-length, her head turned slightly aside. On her head is a crimson-pink crown set with stones, with long pearl pendants falling on either side; a pale veil shows beneath it. Her dress is elaborate: a blue gown with a large ornamented gold shoulder piece, and over it a terracotta-red mantle in broad folds that wraps her shoulders and falls to the hem. Against the blue she holds a gold cross before her. The halo is golden-orange, built from concentric rings. The ground is cream with faint painted scrollwork; a dark brown border of diamonds edges the field, with fans in the upper corners and an inscribed cartouche below. The fill is partial: beads cover the robes, crown, pendants, cross, halo and border ornament, while the ground, face and hands stay printed.
