Icon Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "St. Trophimus"

«St. Trophimus» is a waist-length image of the apostle with a cross and a hand raised in blessing. The range is warm: pink and turquoise.

What the picture shows

The apostle stands frontally. His right hand holds a golden cross on a slender shaft, his left is raised palm outward. His hair and short beard are dark blond, his gaze direct. The outer tunic is a coral pink, with a turquoise-blue himation falling from it and thrown over the left arm; a line of pearl-white beads runs along the cuffs and neckline. The halo is assembled from rings of yellow, gold and ochre. The pale olive background with its printed leaf scroll stays unbeaded on the canvas: beading covers the figure, the cross, the halo, the side ornamental bands, the corner fan rosettes and the name cartouche below. The coverage is partial. The face and hands stay painted — no beads are laid over them, which is why the image keeps its painterly softness.
