Icon Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "St. Timothy"

“St. Timothy” — a waist-length image of the apostle with a Gospel book, in a white omophorion over green vestments.

What the picture shows

The saint is turned slightly aside, his eyes on the viewer. His hair is chestnut and his beard short and curly. Over the green vestment lies a white omophorion trimmed with red crosses and thin ochre bands. His left hand supports a large book in a pale blue binding with fine ornament; his right is raised to his chest. Red cloth shows at the lower right. The halo is golden, built from rows of warm ochre. The beading is partial: beads cover the figure, halo, corner rosettes, side ornament and cartouche, while the pale background with its printed leaf pattern stays in print on the canvas. A brown-and-gold border runs round the field: corner fans at the top, a small repeating pattern down the sides and the name cartouche at the foot.
