What the picture shows

The saint stands almost frontally, her head slightly turned. She wears a light-blue veil edged with a pearl border and a terracotta-red robe with a wide band of gold ornament running down the front. In her right hand she holds a green palm branch with long leaves. The halo is built from concentric rings of gold and ochre. A decorative frame of scrollwork with round rosettes in the upper corners runs around the edge, and there is a cartouche at the bottom. The beading is partial: the figure, halo, veil, robe and border are worked in beads, while the soft cream background with its printed foliate pattern stays as it is on the canvas and keeps the image airy.
