Icon Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "St. Peter"

“St. Peter” — a half-length image of the saint holding a cross, his right hand raised in blessing. The tones are warm ochre and green.

What the picture shows

The saint faces the viewer almost frontally: a man of middle years with a fair beard and long hair falling to his shoulders. On his head is a jewelled circlet set with small stones and pearls. His dress is layered — a green tunic with a broad patterned band down the centre and gilt ornament at the shoulders, with a brownish-red mantle over it. In his left hand he holds a cross on a long staff; his right is raised, palm outward. The halo is gold with concentric rings. The ground is cream with fine painted scrollwork, edged by a dark border of diamonds and rosettes, with an inscribed cartouche below. The fill is partial: beads cover the vestments, circlet, halo and border ornament, while the ground, face and hands remain printed on the canvas.
