Icon Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "St. Lubov"
Description
“St. Lubov” shows the young martyr in a raspberry dress with pearl-like trim. The image is childlike and light in mood.
What the picture shows
The saint is shown to the waist, frontally. Her hair is caught with a strand of pale beads; she wears a raspberry-red dress with gold embroidery at the neckline and hem and turquoise-and-white strands along the edges and sleeves. Her hand holds a small cross on a pearl cord. The halo is gold, outlined with a narrow red band. The fill is partial: beads cover the figure, the dress, the trim, the halo, the border and the fan medallions above, while the cream ground with its printed scrollwork stays exactly as printed on the canvas. A narrow border of brown squares runs around the field, amber fans sit in the upper corners, and a red name plate closes the bottom.
