What the picture shows

The saint faces forward: grey hair, a long grey beard, a high forehead. His robe is violet-lilac, its folds shifting from light to deep tones, with golden inserts at the neckline and cuff. The right hand is raised in blessing; the left holds a book in a red-and-gold binding with a cross and a blue stone at its centre. The halo is broad, built from gold and amber rows. The beading is partial: beads cover the figure, the halo, the corner rosettes, the ornamental side border and the lower cartouche, while the ivory background with its printed pattern stays in print. The framing is strict — golden-brown corner rosettes, a narrow side band and a rectangular cartouche under the figure.
