“St. Joseph” — a grey-haired monastic saint with his arms crossed on his chest. A restrained icon in green and gold.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown to the waist, frontally. His hair and long beard are grey, almost white; the face is lean and concentrated. A dark green mantle falls from his shoulders in broad folds; at the throat a red-and-pink collar with a small ornament is visible, and a blue undergarment shows below. Both arms are crossed on the chest. The halo is wide, of yellow and golden rings within a thin outline. The beading is partial: beads cover the figure, the mantle, the halo, the corner ornaments and the border, while the cream background with its printed scrollwork is left unbeaded. A red name plaque runs along the bottom.
