What the picture shows

The prince faces forward, his face youthful, his fair hair falling to the shoulders. He wears a low cap with a patterned crown and a dark fur band. The outer robe is pale lilac with a greyish sheen, and gold bands set with small stones run along the shoulders and edges. His left hand holds a large dark eight-pointed cross; the right is raised to his chest. The halo is golden, outlined by a row of small beads. The beading is partial: beads cover the figure, halo, corner rosettes, the ornamental side border and the cartouche below, while the pale background with its printed leaf pattern stays in print. Fan rosettes fill the upper corners, a narrow ornamental border runs down each side, and a cartouche in a gold frame sits at the bottom.
