“St. Fotinia (Svetlana)” — the saint with a water vessel, in green and crimson garments.

What the picture shows

She is shown half-length, her long fair hair falling loose over her shoulders. A blue-and-white headdress with rows of pearls covers her head, and a gold necklace lies at her throat. Her undergarment is green, worked with squares of pink and gold inlays, and a crimson mantle falls over it. In her right hand she holds a gilded vessel with a tall spout, and a blue jug stands at her side. The halo is gold, made of concentric rings. The edge carries a brown-and-gold foliate border with rosettes above and a cartouche below. The beading is partial: figure, headdress, garments, vessels, halo and frame are beaded, while the cream printed background stays on the canvas.
