Icon Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "St. Euphrosyne"

«St. Euphrosyne» shows the holy princess in a tall crown and veil. The most striking colour here is a deep lilac-violet.

What the picture shows

The saint stands frontally, holding a large carved cross before her in both hands — its crossbar worked in golden beads with small floral inserts. A pearl crown set with coloured stones sits on her head, and from under it a blue-and-white veil falls across her shoulders. The outer cloak is a rich lilac shading from pink to violet, with a pale dress showing beneath. The halo is assembled from rings of gold and ochre. The pale olive background with its printed leaf pattern stays free of beads: beading covers the figure, the cross, the crown, the halo, the side ornamental bands, the corner rosettes and the name cartouche below. The coverage is partial. The face and hands stay painted — no beads are laid over them, which is why the image keeps its painterly softness.
