Icon Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "St. David"

“St. David” — the holy prophet and king in a crown, a red mantle over his shoulders. The icon is built on the contrast of warm red and cool turquoise.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown to the waist, turned slightly, his head a little inclined. On his head is a crown set with coloured stones; his hair is long and his face young and beardless. A red-terracotta mantle is thrown over his shoulder, and beneath it a turquoise-blue robe falls in large glinting folds. His hands are folded before the chest. The halo is wide, of yellow-gold rings. The beading is partial: beads cover the figure, the crown, the mantle, the halo, the corner ornaments and the border, while the cream background with its printed foliate scroll stays painted on the canvas.
