“St. Daria” — the saint with an eight-pointed cross, in a white headcloth and crimson robe.

What the picture shows

She is shown half-length. A white headcloth edged with pearls covers her head and falls in long ends over her shoulders. Her robe is crimson-red in soft folds, with a gold band at the neckline and gold bracelets at her wrists. In her raised right hand she holds a brown-and-gold eight-pointed cross; her left hand rests before her breast. The halo is wide, assembled from many concentric rings of ochre and gold. A brown-and-gold foliate border frames the image, with rosettes in the upper corners and a cartouche below. The beading is partial: figure, headcloth, robe, halo and frame are beaded, while the cream printed background is left open.
