Icon Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "St. Claudia"

“St. Claudia” — the martyr in a diadem and a violet robe, holding a cross in her right hand. The brightest icon in the series.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown to the waist, frontally. On her head is a diadem of small stones, with a white-and-blue veil falling from beneath it. The robe is violet-lilac, with a wide golden-brown yoke worked in a fine chequer; a strip of green cloth shows on the left. Her right hand holds a small cross, the left is raised palm outwards. The halo is unusually varied in colour: the rings run from pale blue and white to gold. The beading is partial: beads cover the figure, the diadem, the halo, the corner ornaments and the border, while the cream background with its printed foliate scroll stays painted on the canvas.
