Icon Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "St. Anatoly"

“St. Anatoly” shows the venerable saint in a green vestment with a pectoral cross and a scroll. The tone is calm and serious.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown to the waist in a green klobuk whose veil falls onto his shoulders. The cassock is bright green, with a gold cross on a chain at the chest; a brown-ochre mantle is thrown over the shoulders. A long grey beard lies on his chest and his gaze is direct. The halo is a yellow-gold circle with a fine rim. The right hand is raised in blessing, and an unrolled pale scroll appears at the lower left. The fill is partial: beads cover the figure, the vestments, the cross, the halo, the border and the corner fans, while the cream ground with its printed scrollwork stays on the canvas. A red cartouche and a band of ornament close the field below, and a narrow border of brown squares runs around the edges.
