What the picture shows

The saint stands almost frontally, her head slightly bowed. A light white-and-blue patterned veil covers her head and shoulders and falls in soft folds across her chest. Beneath it are a green tunic and a lilac-violet mantle with broad folds. In both hands she holds a small gold vessel with a narrow neck and a shaped lid. The halo is golden-yellow, pale at the centre, with thin rays. The ground is cream with faint painted scrollwork; a dark brown border of diamonds and rosettes runs around it, with fans in the upper corners and an inscribed cartouche below. The fill is partial: beads cover the robes, veil, vessel, halo and border ornament, while the ground, face and hands stay printed on the canvas.
