Icon Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "St. Agnes"

«St. Agnes» shows the young martyr with loose hair and a wreath of flowers. It is the softest and lightest icon in the batch.

What the picture shows

The saint stands almost frontally, holding a plain dark cross before her in both hands. Long wavy hair the colour of pale ochre falls over her shoulders, and a slender wreath of pink and white blossoms rests on her head. A green beaded necklace lies at her throat. The outer cloak is a pink crimson, with a cream-white dress in soft folds beneath it and a warm ochre tone showing lower down. The halo is assembled from rings of yellow, gold and brown. The cream-olive background with its printed leaf scroll stays free of beads: beading covers the figure, the wreath, the cross, the halo, the side ornament, the corner rosettes and the cartouche below. The coverage is partial. The face and hands stay painted — no beads are laid over them, which is why the image keeps its painterly softness.
