Icon Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "St. Agatha"

«St. Agatha» shows the great martyr with a cross and a palm branch. The range is cool: silvery blue with violet.

What the picture shows

The saint stands frontally: her right hand is raised in blessing, her left holds a dark cross and a pale palm branch. On her head is a pearl headdress with a red border, worked in white and cream beads, with a veil falling from beneath it. The outer cloak is a silvery blue in broad calm folds, with a violet-lilac dress and a vertical stripe visible beneath; a red beaded necklace sits at her throat. The halo is assembled from rings of yellow, gold and warm brown. The cream-olive background with its printed leaf scroll stays unbeaded: beading covers the figure, the headdress, the cross and branch, the halo, the side ornamental bands, the corner rosettes and the name cartouche. The coverage is partial. The face and hands stay painted — no beads are laid over them, which is why the image keeps its painterly softness.
