Icon Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "Icons "St. Seraphim of Sarov""
Description
St. Seraphim of Sarov — a half-length image of a grey-haired elder in a green mantle, with a calm, concentrated gaze turned towards the one who prays.
What the picture shows
The saint stands almost frontally, his head slightly inclined. Long grey hair falls to his shoulders, the wide beard is parted, the high forehead is marked with deep lines. His right hand is pressed to his chest, and a golden cross stands out clearly on the dark green vestment. Behind his head is a large round halo in a warm honey-gold tone; the ground is light ochre with a barely visible plant pattern. A wide carpet-like border runs around the edge: green, brick-red and golden lozenges with square rosettes in the corners. A cartouche with an inscription is placed at the bottom. The beadwork is partial: beads cover the halo, the green mantle, the ornamental border and part of the ground, while the face, hands and fine strands of hair remain printed on the canvas, keeping the softness of the painted face.
