What the picture shows

Two full-length figures stand side by side. On the left, Prince Peter wears pale princely robes with a red cloak edged in gold pattern and a red fur-trimmed cap; he holds a cross in his right hand and a long staff in his left. On the right, Princess Fevronia wears a green gown with a blue-and-white mantle and a white headcloth beneath her crown, a cross in her hand as well. The haloes are large discs of ochre, green and pink circles. The ground is golden yellow with a faint foliate pattern. The wide border is deep russet, filled with fine multicoloured ornament and flower rosettes at the corners, with a light two-line inscribed plaque at the bottom. Coverage is partial — the figures, haloes, crosses and border ornament are beaded, while the golden ground stays printed.
