«Icon of the Mother of „Seven Arrows“» shows the Mother of God with arrows turned towards her heart; the mood is quiet and inward.

What the picture shows

The Mother of God stands full length, her hands folded at her breast. Her robe is rose-crimson with dense folds and a green lining across the shoulders, and a necklace of small coloured circles lies at her throat. The halo is formed of yellow-ochre rays within a dark ring. Seven arrows converge on her heart from both sides — four on the left, three on the right — with pale blue shafts and red heads. Below, the robe falls in blue folds to the lower edge. The ground is light ochre with a faint pattern. A dense multicoloured border of small floral and geometric ornament frames the panel, with a narrow inscribed plaque at the bottom. Coverage is partial — the figure, halo, arrows and border are beaded, while the ochre ground stays printed.
