«Icon of the Mother of God „Ostrobramskaya“» shows the Mother of God with her hands crossed on her breast against a deep blue ground.

What the picture shows

She inclines her head and folds her hands at her breast, eyes lowered, the face quiet. Her robe is pale blue with turquoise folds and white pearl trim, and a tall crown set with pink, green and white stones rests on her head. The halo is formed of concentric rings in pink, green and gold. Long rays of radiance spread out around the figure, with eight-pointed stars scattered between them. Below, golden-russet foliate scrolls with turquoise blooms enclose the figure, and two large yellow stars flank the halo. The ground is a saturated dark blue. The border is a fine multicoloured geometric ornament, with a light inscribed plaque at the bottom. Coverage here is nearly complete — beads go on the figure, the blue ground and the whole border.
