Icon Bead Embroidery Pattern on Art Canvas "Home iconostasis «Our Lady»"

«Home iconostasis „Our Lady“» is a half-length Kazan image of the Mother of God with the Christ Child, part of a home iconostasis set.

What the picture shows

The Mother of God inclines her head towards her Son. She wears a terracotta-red maphorion lined with green over a green headcloth, its edge traced with an ochre band. To the right stands the Christ Child in a light-blue mantle over a white shirt, his right hand raised in blessing. The haloes are built from broad concentric rings — ochre, green, terracotta and white pearl circles — filling most of the upper part of the panel. The ground is a warm golden yellow with a faint foliate pattern. The border is made of russet and blue ornamental panels with flower rosettes in the corners, and a light inscribed plaque along the bottom. Coverage is partial — the figures, haloes and border panels are beaded, while the golden ground and its scrollwork stay printed on the canvas.
