«Icon of the Mother of God „Inexhaustible Chalice“» shows the Mother of God with hands raised in prayer and the Christ Child rising from a chalice before her.

What the picture shows

She stands frontally, both hands lifted palms outward. Her robe is a warm rose-red with broad folds, overlaid with patterned turquoise bands. A crown with pointed tips and coloured stones sits on her head. At breast level stands a gold chalice from which the Christ Child rises with his hand raised in blessing; the stem is built from tiers of coloured circles. Her halo is worked in concentric rings of ochre, green and gold against a pale yellow ground with a foliate scroll. The wide border carries blue plaitwork with red and white crosses, and an inscribed plaque runs along the bottom. Coverage is partial — the figures, chalice, crown and border ornament are beaded, while the yellow ground with its scrollwork stays printed.
