Description

«St. Vladislav» shows the holy prince in a crown and crimson cloak with a cross in his hand; the dress reads as princely, not monastic.

What the picture shows

The prince stands frontally, a gold crown with coloured stones on his head. A crimson cloak is thrown over his shoulders; under it a green undergarment with dense gold ornament and a wide decorated shoulder-piece. His right hand holds a gold cross, the left is raised palm forward. Hair and beard are dark fair. The halo is large and golden, with a beaded ornamental arch and the name plaque above. Face and hands remain printed on the canvas, and the cream embossed ground also stays printed — the beading is not solid.
