Icon Bead Embroidery Kit on Art Canvas "St. Vitaly"

“St. Vitaly” is a monk in a green hood, giving a blessing.

What the picture shows

The figure is shown to the waist, the face lean, the beard white and straight. An emerald-green monastic hood covers his head and shoulders, with two red crosses on the shoulders — the main patch of colour in the icon. Beneath it is a wide brown mantle in large soft folds, with a green paraman and a red-and-green cross showing below. His right hand is folded in blessing, his left open palm upward. The halo is gold with rays; the ground is cream with an embossed scroll. The kit has only eleven colours, and nearly all of them go into the greens and the browns. The beads fill the hood, the mantle, the paraman and the halo, while the face, the hands and the ground stay printed on the canvas.

The beads go onto the print row by row, and the whole picture stays visible while the work is unfinished, so it is easy to stop and come back to it a week later. The frame shown in the photo is not in the kit and is chosen separately, to match the wall or the furniture.
