«St.Ustin» (the icon reads: Martyr Justina) shows the martyr in a crimson maphorion; the green gown beneath lightens towards the hem and breaks up the solid red.

What the picture shows

The saint stands half-turned, her head inclined. A crimson maphorion covers her head and shoulders and falls in broad folds; a green gown with a gold clasp at the neckline shows down the centre. Her right hand holds a gold cross raised to chest height. The halo is golden, with a beaded ornamental arch and the name cartouche above. Face and hands stay printed on the canvas, and the cream embossed ground is not beaded over — the beading is not solid.
