Description

«St.Tikhon» shows the patriarch in an embroidered mitre with a staff; the black mantle and gold ornaments make this the most solemn image in the batch.

What the picture shows

The patriarch stands frontally, his beard long and white. On his head is a mitre worked in gold, red and blue beads with a cross on top. The mantle is black; over it lie a panagia and a pectoral cross on chains, with a light patterned epitrachelion below. His left hand holds a tall staff, the right is raised in blessing. The halo is golden, with a beaded ornamental arch and the name cartouche above. Face, beard and hands remain printed, as does the cream embossed ground — the beading is not solid.
