Description

«St. Theodore» shows the warrior great-martyr: curly hair, a crimson cloak and a gold cross in his raised hand.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown to the waist, almost frontally. His hair is thick and curly, his beard short. A crimson cloak is thrown over his shoulder; beneath it a garment with a fine scaled pattern in golden and brown tones, close to military dress. His left hand holds a tall gold cross, the right is raised with an open palm. The halo is golden, with a beaded ornamental arch and name plaque above. Face and hands remain printed on the canvas, and the cream embossed ground is not beaded over — the beading is not solid.
