«St. Symeon» shows the righteous man with a large open scroll; pale blue dress and a white scroll make this the lightest image in the batch.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown to the waist, in three-quarter view. His hair is chestnut, his beard short and parted. The dress is pale blue with a turquoise cast, the folds soft, with a lighter wrap over it. His right hand holds a wide open scroll with Church Slavonic text that fills the right half of the field. The halo is golden, with a beaded ornamental arch and the name cartouche above. Face, hands and the scroll text remain printed on the canvas, as does the cream embossed ground — the beading is not solid.
