«St. Ruslan» shows a grey-bearded saint in green vestments, holding a red bound Gospel.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown to the waist. His hair and long beard are white, his forehead high. The vestments are green with soft folds, and over them lies a light band with large red crosses. His left hand holds a Gospel in a red binding with gold ornament and stones, the right is raised to the chest. The halo is wide and golden, with a beaded ornamental arch and the name cartouche above. Face, beard and hands remain printed on the canvas, and the cream embossed ground is not beaded over — the beading is not solid.
