Icon Bead Embroidery Kit on Art Canvas "St. Raisa"
Description
“St. Raisa” is a martyr in a deep blue maphorion, her hands folded on her chest.
What the picture shows
The most laconic icon in the group. A deep blue maphorion closely covers her head and shoulders, the beads laid in large diagonal folds — it takes up almost the whole field. A pink-red under-cloth shows at the throat, the only warm patch in the dress. Both hands are folded on her chest. The halo is gold and broad, the ground cream with an embossed scroll and beaded fans in the upper corners. The kit has only twelve colours — the shortest palette in the group — so the work goes quickly. The beads fill the maphorion, the under-cloth and the halo, while the face, the hands and the ground stay printed on the canvas.

The finished icon measures 230×300 mm — a size for a home icon shelf or a stand of its own. The beads go onto the print row by row, and the whole picture stays visible while the work is unfinished, so it is easy to stop and come back to it a week later. The frame shown in the photo is not in the kit and is chosen separately, to match the wall or the furniture.
