«St. Martha» shows the righteous woman holding a round vessel; a blue cloak and olive-gold gown keep a restrained, domestic mood.

What the picture shows

The saint stands almost frontally, head slightly bowed. A light grey-white veil with a fine pattern covers her hair and falls to her shoulders. Over it a blue cloak drops in broad vertical folds, with an olive-gold gown beneath, finely ornamented and with beads at the neckline. She holds a small round vessel before her in both hands. The halo is golden, with a beaded ornamental arch and the name cartouche above. Face and hands remain printed, as does the embossed ground — the beading is not solid.
