Description

«St. Macarius» shows an elder with a long white beard and raised palms — the calmest, almost colourless image in the batch.

What the picture shows

The venerable one is shown to the waist, both hands raised palms towards the viewer. The beard is very long and grey, falling below the chest and almost covering the dress. A blue mantle with broad folds lies over his shoulders, a light grey cassock beneath. This kit uses the fewest colours in the batch, and it works for the image: attention goes to the face and the gesture. The halo is golden, with a beaded ornamental arch and name plaque above. Face, beard and hands remain printed, as does the embossed ground — the beading is not solid.
