“St. Lubov” is a young martyr in a pearl diadem, with a cross and a white scroll.

What the picture shows

The youngest-looking figure in the group: almost a girl, with smoothly combed hair and a lowered gaze. A strand of pearl beads crowns her head and falls in drops across her brow. The dress is red, with a wide white pearl trim at the neckline and shoulders. In her right hand she holds a gold cross, in her left a rolled white cloth. The halo is gold, the ground cream with an embossed scroll. Red against pearl gives a restrained, almost festive palette. The beads fill the dress, the diadem, the trim, the cross and the halo, while the face, the hands and the ground stay printed on the canvas.
