«St.Ignatius» shows the hierarch in a terracotta phelonion with a blue omophorion; warm and cool stand side by side with no transition.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown to the waist, frontally. His beard is long and white in even strands. A blue omophorion with white crosses lies across his shoulders as a broad band; beneath it a phelonion in terracotta and orange with a fine scaled pattern. He holds a Gospel in a red-and-gold binding with a cross. The halo is golden, with a beaded ornamental arch and name plaque above. Face, beard and hands remain printed on the canvas, and the cream embossed ground is not beaded over — the beading is not solid.
