Description

«St. Euphrosyne» shows the princess in a jewelled crown and a wide decorated shoulder-piece — the richest female dress in the batch.

What the picture shows

The saint stands frontally. On her head is a tall crown worked in gold beads with green and red stones; a pale blue veil falls from under it on both sides. Over her shoulders lies a wide round collar embroidered with gold and gems. Below, a violet mantle falls in heavy folds, with a light blue gown beneath. She holds a gold cross. The halo is golden, with a beaded ornamental arch and name plaque above. Face, hands and the embossed ground stay printed — the beading is not solid.
