What the picture shows

The saint stands frontally. Her head is covered by a headdress worked in gold and white beads with a fine pattern — it catches the eye at once. A red maphorion falls over her shoulders in broad folds, a green gown showing beneath. Her right hand holds a gold cross, the left is raised with an open palm. The halo is golden, warming towards the rim, with a beaded ornamental arch and name plaque above. Face and hands stay printed on the canvas, as does the cream embossed ground — the beading is not solid.
