Icon Bead Embroidery Kit on Art Canvas "St. Elijah"

“St. Elijah” is a prophet with his hand raised in blessing, in violet robes under a red mantle.

What the picture shows

The elder is shown to the waist: long grey hair falls in waves to his shoulders, the beard is broad and white, the forehead high. Most of the colour comes from a violet-lilac tunic with large vertical folds; over it hangs a dark red mantle falling from the left shoulder. His right hand is raised palm outward; in his left is a pale rolled scroll. The halo is gold and broad, the ground a warm cream with an embossed scroll and a name plaque above in Church Slavonic. The beads fill the tunic, the mantle, the scroll and the halo, while the face, the hands and the ground stay printed on the canvas.

The frame in the photograph is not part of the kit: it and the glass are chosen separately once the embroidery is finished.
