Icon Bead Embroidery Kit on Art Canvas "St. Dmitri"

“St. Dmitri” is a young warrior prince holding a model of a white church. The mood is ceremonial and quiet at the same time.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown to the chest against a cream ground with an embossed foliate scroll. A red-and-gold crown with a pearl rim sits on his head, and a broad amber halo stands behind it. A crimson cloak patterned in gold covers his shoulders, over a blue-violet kaftan with a fine border. In his left hand he holds a white church with blue domes; his right rests on a shaft. A pale plaque at the top carries his name in Church Slavonic, and beaded fans open in the upper corners. The beads fill the robes, the crown, the halo and the corner fans, while the face, the hands and the cream scrolled ground stay as printing on the canvas.

The frame in the photograph is not part of the kit: it and the glass are chosen separately once the embroidery is finished.
