Description

«St. Bogdan» shows a young martyr holding a gold cross, in a deep red cloak over a green tunic.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown to the waist, almost frontally: chestnut hair, a short beard, a direct gaze. His right hand holds a gold eight-pointed cross; the left is raised with an open palm towards the viewer. The cloak is worked in deep red beads, the tunic in grass green, with golden trim along the edges. The halo is wide, in several shades of golden bead, and above it runs a beaded arch of ornament with the name plaque. Face and palms stay printed on the canvas, as does the cream ground with its embossed scrollwork: the beading is not solid.
