Description

«St. Anfisa» shows the martyr in a red maphorion, a blue gown and a small gold cross in her hand.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown to the waist, head slightly bowed. A white-and-blue veil with a fine pattern covers her hair, and over it a red maphorion falls in soft folds, a blue gown with gold trim at the neckline showing beneath. Her right hand holds a small gold cross, the left palm is lowered. The halo is golden, with a beaded ornamental arch and the name plaque above. Face and hands remain printed on the canvas, and the cream embossed ground is not beaded over — the beading is not solid.
