Icon Bead Embroidery Kit on Art Canvas "St. Andrew"

“St. Andrew” is an apostle with his hand raised in blessing and a rolled scroll in the other. The image is restrained, almost without ornament.

What the picture shows

The grey-haired elder is shown to the waist: a high forehead, a long white beard parted into strands. He wears a green tunic and a dark red mantle that falls in large soft folds. His right hand is raised palm outward; in his left is a pale scroll with a fine pattern. The halo is worked in sandy gold beads against a cream ground with an embossed scroll. A plaque at the top carries his name in Church Slavonic, and beaded half-suns sit in the corners. The palette is short: green, deep red and gold. The beads cover the robes, the halo and the corner ornament, while the face, the hands and the ground stay printed on the canvas.

The vertical 230×300 mm format keeps the figure large and legible even from a distance. The canvas is dense, holds tension in a hoop and does not stretch under the weight of the beads, so the edges of the finished piece stay straight. The carved moulding in the photograph is not included: it is chosen separately after the embroidery is done.
