Icon Bead Embroidery Kit on Art Canvas "St. Anatoly"
Description
“St. Anatoly” is a grey-bearded monk in a green cassock, with a pectoral cross.
What the picture shows
The figure is shown to the waist, the face aged, the beard long, thick and grey. A black klobuk with a veil falling to the shoulders sits on his head. The cassock is a deep green with large soft folds; a dark pectoral cross hangs on a chain at his chest. His right hand is folded in blessing, his left holds a small pale scroll. The halo is gold, the ground cream with an embossed scroll and beaded fans in the upper corners. The green of the cassock against the black klobuk carries the main contrast of the icon. The beads fill the cassock, the klobuk, the cross and the halo, while the face, the hands and the ground stay printed on the canvas.

The piece is vertical, 230×300 mm; icons like this are usually stitched for a name day or a christening, and that takes several weeks of quiet evenings. The pattern is already printed on the canvas in full colour, so there are no squares to count. The frame in the photograph is bought separately — it does not come with the kit.
