“St. Alexander” is a warrior prince in mail with a spear in his hand.

What the picture shows

The figure is shown to the waist against a pale embossed ground. Fine mail covers his shoulders, and over it a red cloak lined with white fur, clasped at the throat. A dark cross reads clearly on his chest. In his right hand he holds a long spear shaft, his left resting on his belt; green and red armour trim shows near the lower edge. His hair is fair, his beard short. The halo is gold, with a name plaque above. The beads fill the mail, the cloak, the fur and the halo, while the face, the hands and the ground stay printed on the canvas.
