Description

“Pink tenderness” sets a little bunch of roses in the middle of a pink check. It is the densest piece in this run of cards.

What the picture shows

The motif is square and built in three layers. An outer border of scattered pink star stitches thins out towards the edge of the canvas. Inside it lies a field of fine check: deep pink crosses set every other square, with white Aida showing between them, so the pattern reads like printed cotton. A thin green line frames that field. Five roses are gathered at the centre, each worked as a tight coil in two shades of pink — nearly crimson at the heart, paler outside — with green leaves spreading between them. The roses stand noticeably proud of the flat check, and the whole piece is built on that contrast. Three floss colours.
