Description

“Wedding rushnyk” is a long white towel with red and black embroidery, a heart of roses and two wedding rings.

What the picture shows

Both ends of the towel are stitched alike. At the centre of each is a heart-shaped wreath of red roses with black leaves, and inside the heart lie two interlocking wedding rings outlined in red. Above the wreath runs the inscription «НА ЩАСТЯ НА ДОЛЮ», worked in black letters square by square. Bands hold the composition above and below: a geometric red and black row and a garland of small roses. The cloth between the motifs stays white — only the ornament on the canvas inserts is stitched. There are just two colours, red and black, so what matters here is an even count and a clean reverse.
