Description

“Traditional motif” is a red-and-green folk ornament built around a central rosette.

What the picture shows

At the very centre is a red flower with a white eye set into a green diamond. Four smaller flowers and diamonds radiate from it symmetrically, and broad oak-like leaves lie in the corners. Red berries are scattered between green bands, and an outer ring of leaves closes the contour. The palette holds to two colours — red and green — with their shades. The ecru canvas shows in the gaps and works as the linen of a ritual towel. Seven floss colours, 33 m. Every element of the ornament is built from an odd number of stitches, which is why the pattern meets symmetrically.
